COMRADE AGENCY
Comrade is a digital design agency based in Oakland, California. They approached our team in hopes of streamlining in-office processes around their design and marketing departments.

Three week project in a group of 5; My contributions include: problem definition, initial concept ideation, user flows, wireframes and user testing to produce high fidelity mock-ups for final iteration and design solution.

INITIAL PROBLEM STATEMENT
Initial brainstorming with clients showed a very large problem landscape:
-Event planning logistics and efficiency
-Marketing logistics
-Growing the company's name and building a design thinking community.

EVENT USER FLOW / ATTENDEE & COMRADE
Stakeholder interviews and attendee surveys helped us build out a user flow for their event timeline. This gave us a detailed view that allowed us to find pain points and areas where we could be innovative.

DESIGN DIRECTION
Given the time frame, and scope of the project, we decided that we would give Comrade the most value by focusing on their post event planning phase. Main focus was to maintain a relationship with event attendees, empower them as avenues to market the brand, and grow a design community.
COMRADE CONNECT APP
Tasked with growing Comrade's brand name and leverage their existing client network to grow a design thinking community, we designed Comrade Connect; an app that helped attendees stay connected to Comrade Events and allowed Comrade to build a repository of useful contacts.

COMPANY WEBSITE / AESTHETIC CUES
Taking design aesthetics from the company website was the first step in maintaining brand identity. We wanted our app solution to remain synonymous with Comrade's existing look and feel to negate any disconnect.
EVENT'S PAGE
The main function of the app is to get people excited about Comrade's Design talks.
1. The RSVP function was removed to keep the focus on the main image

2. Wireframes show the initial idea for the event's landing page.
​
3. Second iteration shows a navigation bar denoting if you wanted to look at featured events or popular events such as the most upcoming one. This is to drive marketing and excitement for the next event

PROFILE USER FLOW
Main driver to build useful resources for Comrade is to build a robust contacts list
1. Initial wireframe shows contacts list but it was too text heavy and cluttered. The bottom navigation bar had a home button which was redundant so we simplified it to the basic functions of the app
​
2. Second iteration is much more relaxed and fun to engage with.
​
3. The final slide shows the profile page when you click in to get the person's full information. Much of the information we recommended be scraped from LinkedIn to minimize user frustration in filling out long forms.

EVENT PARTICIPATION
To expand Comrade's marketing collateral and get participant's to be more engaged with the talk, these formats were developed to help Comrade collect specific data points that they could use later.
1. LOW Interaction:
Specific questions generated by Comrade staff or speakers that the attendees can answer at their own pace.
​
2. MEDIUM Interaction:
Allowed the users to input their thoughts and feedback as the discussion is in progress. This gives the attendees an outlet and live feed to stay engaged and communicate with one another.
​
3. HIGH Interaction:
A point system where attendees award the speakers with points as the debate is in progress.
